I’d love to say ” from the heart” but the bones are pretty close too. So what is the deal with which these couples sign their eternal love and devotion? It turns out that there is a company out there that allows you to grow rings from your partners bone material. That means that both of you have to donate a small portion of bone, at the moment sourced from the wisdom teeth, and then they grow these cells on a material called bioglass. I imagine it’s a bit like growing moss around an object – you find some, crush it, mix it with beer and then spray it around the object and wait. Really, this is a very simplified version to illustrate the process behind the bone rings, so don’t take me too literally on it please. In the future this process is hoped to be useful for patients who urgently need bone material, and not only the ones who declare their love with it. So all in all, very interesting, right?
